2015 has seen some awesome tunes to workout with. Everyone will have their own, but for us here at Matrix Nutrition HQ, we think these are the best.

Mostly alternative, often quite angry and 100% upbeat, this is for those that need a kick when working out, but can’t stand X Factor! If you want something different, this is for you.

Happy listening!

10. Beck – Dreams

He’s been going since the early 90s, but this year he followed up a rather calm offering, with this. A nice entry into your workout, it’s a bumping jolly ride.

9. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – Downtown

It’s funky and upbeat. Great for a a non angry workout! You know, cardio basically. The chorus isn’t the best, but it’s still a belter for some treadmill work.

8. Todd Terje – Delorean Dynamite

The album is weird. The song is a bit peculiar. But it’s got the monotonous beat that helps whether you are lifting or doing cardio.

7. Sikth – Philistine Philosophies

The progmetal godfathers returned this year, and this was one of the new singles. It’s angry, chaotic and hypnotic in places. It’s weight training on Rage 3.0 Rampage!

6. Drenge – Running Wild

Broody, loud and a little bit angry. The rock music on this collection is now in full swing. The riff alone is perfect for working out.

5. Faith No More – Superhero

Typically mad, Faith No More returned this year. The machine gun drumbeats, angry vocals and the whole idea of the song asking you to “lead” creates an all encompassing kick up the arse mid-workout!

4. Slaves – The Hunter

Punk is angry, and so is this duo. Lyrically, it is very “against the system” and that’s always motivational. The crescendo at the end of the song is well worth waiting for. Stick the earplugs in and wait for it to blow!

3. Foo Fighters – Something From Nothing

The breakdown is epic. That is all you need to know.

2. Leftield – Universal Everything

The electric duo came back with a boom. If you want to get in the zone, then you can’t really get any better than this, from this year anyway. At 7 minutes, one for a longer set, or when you really need to push yourself on the treadmill or bike.

1. Chemical Brothers – Go

Pretty much any Chemical Brothers song is good for a workout. This one even has a pretty apt instruction!

In truth any of these 10 songs could have been the number one, but this one has everything. It builds, it drones on and its upbeat.

Any we missed?
